Mr. Parrott, who died Thursday in the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, was a cook with the Marriott Hotel in Woodbridge before retiring in 1994.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Parrott was a member of the Senior Activity Group of Carteret.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Carteret for many years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Shawn Seymore, Mrs. Collette Pettus and Robin; three sons, Walter Charles 4th and Zane Scott Parrott and Darryl Barnes; a sister, Mrs. Betty Pittman; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Allen, of Pensacola; a son, Tyrece Lamont Parrott, of Norfold, Va.; a step son, Keith Allen, of Pensacola; three sisters, Shawn (James) Seymore, Collette Pettus, and Robin Parrott, all of Carteret, N.J.; three brothers, Walter Parrott, Jr., of Griffin, Ga., Lane Scott Parrott, of Asbury Park, N.J., and Daryle Barnes, of Roselle, N.J.; her father, Walter Parrott, Sr., of Pensacola; her mother-in-law, Hattie Allen of Cantonment; five sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday at Joe Morris and Son Funeral Home with Rev. W.J. Dailey, Pastor of Greater First Baptist Church, Cantonment, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens Cemetery. Joe Morris and Son Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no wake.

Collette leaves to cherish her memories, her sons Haneef Parrott, Mahdi (Gerilyn) Pettus, and Dhkir Robinson. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Tazia Pettus, Wanya Parrott, Spiritual Parrott, Derrick Pettus, and Dream Parrott.
